Traditionally, dining chairs with armrests were restricted to the head of the table and were sometimes called 'carvers'. Theodore Alexander favours a more egalitarian approach to dining room furniture and the chairs in its Dayton range have elegant, unobtrusive arms, not to replicate the formality of tradition but simply to provide maximum comfort.

The beechwood frame and tapering legs, finished in dark macadamia, support an extremely comfortable seat with scoop back and padding in both the cushion and the arms. The pewter grey fabric gives the Dayton a discreet, sophisticated style which makes this an ideal choice for both contemporary and more traditional schemes.
